Effective date: June 21, 2026 · Outreach Assistant for LinkedIn
Overview
Outreach Assistant for LinkedIn is a Chrome browser extension whose single purpose
is to provide reusable, one-click message templates that fill LinkedIn’s message compose box and
connection-request note field. The extension never auto-sends any message — you always control
when and whether a message is sent.
All processing happens on your device. No page content, message content,
names, or profile data is ever transmitted to any server, to the developer, or to any
third party.
Data the Extension Accesses
To perform its function, the extension reads two categories of data from your browser session —
both are processed locally and never leave your device:
- Website content — The extension reads the recipient’s name, role, and company
from the LinkedIn page DOM in order to substitute the{firstName},
{role}, and{company}tokens in your template text. This
information is read only at the moment of substitution and is not stored. - Personal communications — The extension reads the most recent inbound message
in the currently open conversation to recommend the most relevant template from your library.
This message text is processed in memory only (to rank templates) and is discarded immediately
after ranking. It is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Data Stored Locally
The only data the extension persists is data you create yourself:
- Your message templates and any optional signature you configure.
- Extension settings (e.g., whether debug logging is enabled).
This data is stored via the Chrome Storage API (chrome.storage.sync and/or
chrome.storage.local). If sync storage is used, Chrome may replicate your
templates across your own signed-in Chrome profiles via your Google account — this is
governed by Google’s own privacy policy and does not involve the developer. Your templates
and settings never leave your Google/Chrome account ecosystem.
Optional Diagnostic Logger
The extension includes an off-by-default diagnostic logger. When you enable it via the
Options page, it records structural, code-level events — for example, how many compose forms
were found on a page, or whether the Templates button was successfully injected. It records
no message content, contact names, profile URLs, or any personal data.
Diagnostic logs are stored locally in chrome.storage.local and never transmitted
anywhere. You can clear them at any time from the Options page.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
The extension does not sell, share, license, or transfer any user data to third parties.
Data accessed by the extension is used solely to deliver the template-substitution
functionality described above. It is not used for advertising, creditworthiness assessment,
lending decisions, or any purpose unrelated to filling your message templates on LinkedIn.
No Remote Code
The extension does not load or execute any code from remote servers. All code is bundled
within the extension package itself.
Permissions
The extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used solely for its stated
function:
- storage — to save your templates and settings locally.
- Host access to linkedin.com — to inject the template picker into
LinkedIn’s compose toolbar and read the page context needed for token substitution.
Children’s Privacy
This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data
from children.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at this URL with
a revised effective date. Continued use of the extension after a policy change constitutes
acceptance of the updated terms.
