After graduating from Lake Forest College in 2015 with a degree in Computer Science, I landed a software development position at an equipment leasing company handling 100 million dollars in annual sales.
While working with Microsoft products for 3 years, I had the opportunity to customize the Microsoft Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. CRM is an incredibly powerful tool equipped with out-of-box functionality that allows for account, contact, lead and deal management.
Coding all the functionality from scratch would cost the business at least 10 times more. Instead, the platform functionality is affordable and allows for updates to be released in half the time. It is during this time that I realized the power of platforms.
